NEVER TRUST A LAWYER!!

Victory was snatched from the hands of the Wembley   by the cowardley late cancellation of the erstwhile lawyers Hassans. After what seemed like hours of team preparations  in the bar grown men <and Dougie> were left to cry in their beer at this cruel news.
However we should have 2 games next week  Tues and Thrus, should the opposition not chicken out.

DETAILS  TO BE POST AS SOON AS CONFIRMED

Mon 25th July

WILLIAM HILL

Wembley 84
Will Hill   85-1

What should have been a display of the WembleyFinal cricketing talent turned out to be a show of their fighting spirit.
Despite a very late withdrawal  of  many superstars we turned out a competetive 11. Adrian Hewitt led from the front and a Botham like 10 from Mr  Serra  meant  Dougie was still awake by the time the innings was  closed.
Little did we know that the opposition would cheat by "employing" alien  players i.e. proper cricketers!!!!
Once again a sad list of injuries befell our Heroes, several bruises, strains and crushed aspirations.
However  we continue to move forward. A big thank you to all that played, and we will win one day, should I live that long.
I feel we can beat Hassans on the 2nd August please phone me to advise availability<dougie need not apply>

Thurs 21st July

Barbs at the Stadium

This game is cancelled. To be played at a later date,9th August 17.15 victoria stadium

Tues 12th July

RFU at Europa

Wembley 69
RFU 178

The score doesn't in any way reflect the game. It reflects the mentality of the players. As a group they said '69' lets stop there.

Haydn decided that the only way out of there was to break his finger so, bravely, that is what he did. We all think that really he was jealous of the amount of time that mickey has had off. You both have a long way to go though Linky Dinky

Taffy. What can I say? Haydn was out and injured. We needed someone to do the '30 and retire' so you stepped up to the mark  and 7 '4's later, and a run of two, you walked to the pavillion to a heroes welcome. We salute you.

Runs never flowed after that. but a comment from the Social Secretary, and the couple of people remaining, was - WHERE IS THE SUPPORT.

Can the players please stay after they have finished their game to support the other players?

COME ON WEMBLEY

Thurs 7th July

Barbs at Europa.

Wembley 59
Barbs 60

As you can see by the scores this was a rather short game, and because of that it was over by the time I got to the ground.

The batters all felt they should have done better against the balls they were being bowled but unfortunately no-one could put up much of a fight.

There are two possible reasons for such a poor game, Nigel's support is needed or, more likely, is that no one remembered to take the Meerkat Mascot.

Let's try harder next time and win the game.

COME ON WEMBLEY!

Tues 5th July

Bavaria at the Stadium

Wembley 118
Bavaria 200

Well done everyone, yet again the toss was lost which led to a demoralised team who couldn't quite recover from the dissapointment.

A few injuries were suffered, mostly by John. Nigel had his first blood free game which I think is testament to his rising fitness levels.

Dougie managed to go into bat without a bat and it didn't seem to affect his performance, maybe we have found a good tactic for him.

Haydn yet again had to retire for reaching his quota of runs. Keep it up.

Well done everyone for a good game and the team is definately improving.

COME ON WEMBLEY
